Russian professional mixed martial arts fighter Islam Mamedov has only lost one fight in his career, and is currently signed with Bellator MMA.
Mamedov was born in the Dagestan region of Russia, famous for being the birthplace of numerous highly successful Russian combat fighters. He grew up surrounded by fighters and trained throughout his youth, making his professional debut back in 2009. He won his first ever bout, and has since gone on to win every single fight of his career except one. He has become well known as a formidable and consistent fighter, competing in several different promotions including the Siberian League and Russia Regional as well as larger promotions such as ProFC and Fight Nights Global. In 2015 he was signed with the World Series of Fighting, cementing his reputation as one to watch and exposing him to a much bigger fanbase of MMA followers across the world. Mamedov continued to dominate in the ring, winning bout after bout no matter who he was up against. In 2018 he made the move to the Professional Fighters League, making it through to the semi-finals of the PFL Lightweight playoffs in both 2018 and 2019.
Most recently, Mamedov has announced that he has moved to Bellator MMA. He now has over 200k followers on his Instagram page, and a growing fanbase of admirers around the world.
