Jarrett Stoll is a retired Canadian ice hockey player in the NHL. He has played for a number of teams over the span of his career, including the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings, and he won the Stanley Cup twice with the Kings. As a result, he’s still hailed as one of their best players.
Stoll began his career in minor league hockey back in 1997, assisting his team at the time, the Yorkton Bantam AAA Terriers, to victory while also attending high school. By the time he advanced from the minor league to junior, he’d already caught the attention of the NHL. He was playing as team captain for his team at school, and he even advanced to the captain for Team Canada while he was still exploring options for which team to join in the NHL. He won medals in 2001 and 2002 during the World Junior Hockey Championships, setting him up perfectly for an illustrious career in the NHL.
Stoll’s hockey career continued to thrive when he joined the Edmonton Oilers. So much so that he was quickly signed on to the Los Angeles Kings, where he spent some of the best years of his career. After his success at the Stanley Cup, he was signed on for a further three years at the club on a nine million dollar contract. Toward the end of his career, he also played for the New York Rangers and Minnesota Wild, but his best years were devoted to the Kings.
Stoll remains popular among hockey fans, despite retiring in 2015. He has thirty thousand followers on Twitter who keep up with his life following his career.
