Tabansky’s influence extends beyond the field, as he hosts the widely acclaimed Leading Edge Archery Podcast on Anchor FM. Born in Brownsville, Tabansky’s journey took a significant turn when he enlisted in the US Army as a Chinook helicopter repair engineer. A tragic accident during a routine helicopter demonstration in London left him paralyzed from the chest down, including his hands. Undeterred, Tabansky drew inspiration from fellow soldiers recovering at Walter Reed Hospital, embracing a second chance at life. Transforming into a teacher and coach, he exemplified a positive attitude.
Through relentless determination and physical therapy, Tabansky regained control of his hands, emerging as a competitive archer shooting for Leading Edge Archery. With his eyes set on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Tabansky’s story is one of courage, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence in the face of adversity.
