A gifted actor and director, American Jeff Perry has starred in a wide range of roles across television, film, and stage. Recently, Perry can be seen starring in ABC’s political drama Scandal from 2012 to 2018, in which he played Cyrus Beene, White House chief of staff and fan favourite. He’s also starred in CBS’s One Dollar, a mystery set in a small rust-belt town in post-recession America that finds a series of people connected by the passing of a one dollar bill. Perry was another firm favourite with fans of Nash Bridges, playing an obsessive Grateful Dead fan and police inspector opposite Don Johnson for six consecutive seasons. Further credits in shows such as ER, Lost, CSI and The West Wing prove that Perry is a giant of American television.
Not limited to TV, Perry has also appeared on Broadway in productions including The Grapes of Wrath and The Caretaker, and is a keen acting teacher who co-founded Chicago’s internationally acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company. He also directed a number of productions for the non-profit company, including the 2008 Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play. Perry remains a hugely respected figure of the American film and TV industry not only for his consistently engaging performances, but also for his work off-stage and screen.
