Aaron Nola was recognized as ‘Mr. Baseball’ for the state of Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association in 2011, also earning the Class 5A State Player of the Year. He concluded his high school career with an impressive 212 win-loss record and 214 strikeouts in 152 innings pitched. After being drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2011, Nola chose to attend Louisiana State University (LSU).
Since his MLB debut, Nola has established himself as a cornerstone for the Philadelphia Phillies, consistently ranking among the league’s top pitchers. Demonstrating exceptional durability, he led the majors in innings pitched from 2018 to 2024. His prowess on the mound earned him a selection to the National League All-Star team in 2018. That same year, Nola finished 3rd in the National League Cy Young Award voting, following up with a 7th place finish in 2020.
He further demonstrated his lasting impact on the franchise by surpassing Robin Roberts for second place on the Phillies’ all-time strikeout list in 2025. Beyond his on-field achievements, Aaron Nola is deeply committed to various community and charitable initiatives.
