Joe Mande is an American stand-up comedian and actor who writes and produces the award-winning show “The Good Place.” He is experienced in writing comedy for television, and his original style has brought his projects recognition from industry peers.
Mande was a writer for the last three seasons of the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” which he appeared in seven episodes as Pawnee resident Morris Lerpiss. He has written for the Comedy Central sketch series “Kroll Show,” and the Adult Swim series “Delocated.” He was a producer for the first season of the Emmy-award winning Netflix series “Master of None” with Aziz Ansari. Also, Mande was featured in the critically acclaimed film “The Disaster Artist” alongside James Franco. He has appeared on television shows such as “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Modern Family” and “Conan.” Mande’s first comedy album, “Bitchface,” was released in 2014. The album resembles a mixtape with voicemail messages from Amy Poehler, Jenny Slate, Nick Kroll and Aziz Ansari.
In 2017, Mande released a Netflix comedy special called “Joe Mande’s Award Winning Comedy Special,” a fitting name for a host who has worked on so many award winning shows. For his work on “The Good Place,” Mande has been nominated three times for the Writers Guild of America Award and once for the Dany Thomas Producer of the Year Award. In 2019, he embarked in a stand-up tour across the country. Mande is a recognized face in the industry.
