Jonny Fairplay

Jonny Fairplay is an American reality television personality and professional wrestler, known for his strategic gameplay and villain persona on several reality competition shows. After gaining widespread recognition on the seventh season of Survivor: Pearl Islands in 2003, Jonny Fairplay went on to establish himself as a prominent and often controversial figure in reality television. During his seminal Survivor run, Fairplay’s strategic genius was on full display, culminating in the infamous ‘dead grandma’ lie—a maneuver that garnered significant media attention and ultimately led to his third-place finish. This strategic gambit was later acknowledged by host Jeff Probst as ‘the greatest lie in Survivor history,’ solidifying Fairplay’s persona as a formidable and memorable contestant.

Prior to his reality television debut, Fairplay had already cultivated a career in professional wrestling, starting in North Carolina in 1998. He later founded his own promotion, New Dimension Wrestling, in Oregon, where he also worked as a promoter, commentator, and hosted a weekly online professional wrestling radio talk show. Fairplay further honed his industry experience by serving as a personal assistant for professional wrestler ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper for an 18-month period. Following his breakthrough on Survivor, Fairplay leveraged his newfound notoriety to continue his professional wrestling career.

Most recently, Fairplay continued his presence in the competitive entertainment space by participating in season four of the game show The Floor in 2025. His consistent engagement across diverse media platforms, from professional wrestling to high-stakes reality competitions, underscores his unique and enduring marketability within the entertainment industry.
