The brilliant sportsman Jordan Spieth is a professional golfer, best known for being the youngest American to ever win the US Open, which he did in 2015. A former World Number 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, he is also a 3x major winner and the 2015 FedEx Cup champion. In 2013 he established the Spieth Family Foundation, which provides awareness and financial assistance to community organisations.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Spieth learned to play golf at a young age. He played a number of events as a junior, winning the US Junior Amateur twice, and before turning 18 in 2011 he was No.1 in the AJGA Golf Rankings. He went on to play golf at the University of Texas, and was a member of the 2011 Walker Cup team. He also earned a spot as an alternate in the US Open in 2012, which led to him becoming the No.1 amateur in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Spieth turned professional in 2012 at the age of 19, and the following season he claimed his first PGA Tour win, and was later named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. His game and standing on the Green continued to improve and by 2015 he was named PGA Tour Player of the Year, as well as PGA Player of the Year. He also won the Masters Tournament, and the US Open, and came 2nd in the PGA Championship, as well as claiming the Vardon Trophy, and the Byron Nelson Award. He was awarded both trophies again in 2017, and also won The Open Championship.
