As a seven-time Burger Bash Champion, Josh Capon is a highly respected chef who’s appeared on cooking shows like Chopped, Rachael Ray, Bar Rescue, and over a dozen others.
Back when Capon was in college, he realized his true passion was cooking and transferred to Johnson & Wales culinary school. Upon graduation, he impressed legendary chef, Charlie Palmer, who took Capon under his wing at his restaurants Aureole and The Lenox Room. After a brief stint working at the Park Avenue Café, Capon then visited France, Germany, and Italy to learn more about cooking and refine his European cuisine.
While working as sous chef at The Regis Hotel’s Astor Court, Charlie Palmer offered Capon his very first executive chef position at Alva. Capon would go on to work as executive chef at New York restaurants like Matthew’s and Canteen—for the latter, he turned the space into his very own restaurant: Lure Fishbar. And that was only the beginning for Capon: since then, not only has he opened more Lure Fishbars across the country, but he founded B&B Wine Pub, Bowery Meat Company, and El Toro Blanco. He became so well regarded in the state, he’s had press everywhere from Time Out New York, New York Magazine, and even The New York Times.
Now, Capon’s appeared on several breakfast programs such as Good Morning America, CBS Early Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, and Today, to name a few. Additionally, he’s considered a celebrity chef at the New York City Wine and Food Festival and has won the People’s Choice Award countless times. And Capon’s passion for food extends to his charity work, as well, since he’s partnered with programs like Alex’s Lemonade, Cookies for Kids Cancer, and Wellness in Schools.
