Comedian and actor Juan Carlos Barry is one of Venezuela’s most established entertainers. With over thirty years in the spotlight, Barry has starred in a wide variety of television such as El show del vacilón and La Rochela. The well-celebrated and loved Radio Rochela has typified Barry’s career. For over twenty-one years, Barry played an endless variety of characters on the show from “The vampires” to “El machazo,” “Papeados” to “Los Jordans.” His portrayal of Leopoldo Castillo from the parody Aló rochelero remains a fan favourite. A multitalented and versatile artist, Barry is a well-accomplished radio personality and improv king.
Alongside his acclaimed television work, Barry has sat in the director and producers seat and has featured in several plays. Some of his theatre credits include Lolas and Lolo, Changing Sex, and Another Call, amongst others. While on-air, Barry’s extensive radio work includes co-hosting San Juan de Los Morros with Nené Quintana and Morros 89.7FM. He has also featured on FM Center Circuit’s Candela Pura alongside co-host “Caco” Hernández.
