She fulfilled a life-long ambition in 2014 when she won a gold medal with the Jennifer Jones team that represented Canada at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. What makes this all the more impressive is the fact that her team was the first women’s team to go through the Olympics undefeated! A few years later she won a second gold medal in the mixed doubles event at the 2018 Winter Olympics, making her the first Canadian curler to win gold in two consecutive Olympics. Lawes is rightly regarded as one of the greatest Canadian curlers in the history of the sport.
