The gorgeous and hugely creative Kansas Bowling is a director, screenwriter, cinematographer, and actress, who shot to fame when she made her first feature film at the age of 17.
Bowling was born and raised in Hollywood, California. Her love for filmmaking started when she was 13-years-old after she received a Super 8mm camera for Christmas. She began making shorts straight away, and went on to write and directed her first feature film, the horror comedy B.C. Butcher, when she was 17-years-old. She shot it on 16mm in her father’s backyard. It is the world’s first prehistoric slasher movie, and was released when she was 19 by Troma Entertainment, the world’s longest running independent film company behind such slasher classics as The Toxic Avenger, and Class of Nuke ‘Em High. Bowling has gone on to direct dozens of music videos, including Death Valley Girl’s “Disaster is What We’re After” with Iggy Pop. In front of the camera she has been acting since 2003, and most famously featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood as Manson girl Sandra “Blue” Good. Her second feature film as director is currently in post-production.
Bowling regularly connects with her legions of followers and fans through Instagram, posting pictures and videos of her life around filmmaking. She is available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform, and also has an official website, kansas-bowling.com.
