Kauli Vaast has emerged as an Olympic gold medalist in surfing, showcasing his talent on a global stage. After earning an Olympic Gold Medal in men’s shortboard at the Paris 2024 Games, Kauli Vaast solidified his status as a formidable competitor on the global surfing stage. His early career saw him claim three prestigious WSL European Junior Champion titles in 2017, 2019, and 2020. In 2018, Vaast emerged victorious at the Papara Pro Junior Tahiti.
The following year, he continued his junior circuit dominance, winning the Caparica Surf Fest Junior Pro and securing another Papara Pro Junior Tahiti title. This impressive junior performance culminated in his triumph at the Tahiti Pro Trials in 2019, earning him a coveted wildcard entry into the Tahiti Pro Teahupo’o, where he advanced to the Round of 16. Vaast continued to build on his success, winning the Junior Pro Espinho in 2020 and the Azores Pro Junior in 2022. That same year, he demonstrated his prowess in major competition by securing second place at the Outerknown Tahiti Pro.
