Kevin Alejandro is currently entertaining audiences as Manny Perez, the fire captain in the popular CBS drama series Fire Country — but it is far from his first starring role. In previous years, Alejandro has played characters such as Detective Daniel Espinoza in Lucifer, Sebastian “Brother” Blood in Arrow, Jesus Velazquez in True Blood, Nate Moretta in Southland, and many others. His many film credits include Crossing Over, The Lost Husband, and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. He has been nominated for various awards, and his performance in Southland won him an Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Alejandro was born in San Antonio, Texas, and is of Mexican, Spanish, and English heritage. One of his early recurring roles was playing Dominic Hughes in the long-running American soap opera, The Young and the Restless. He also won recurring roles in shows such as 24, Ugly Betty, Shark, Sleeper Cell, and Drive. 2009’s Southland gave him some of his biggest success to that point, and he won further praise for his work on True Blood. He played Senior Detective Christian Arroyo in a 2013 series called Golden Boy, which only lasted for one season but won him another Imagen Award nomination.
By far, Alejandro’s longest-running role to date has been that of Daniel Espinoza in Lucifer, a DC Comics based series that ran for six seasons between 2016 and 2021. Alejandro appeared in every episode. With Fire Country now showing on CBS, Alejandro will be hoping for similar longevity.
