Kevin Chamberlin

Born Seth Kevin Chamberlin on November 25, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Moorestown, New Jersey, Kevin Chamberlin developed an early interest in acting, playing Huck Finn in his elementary school’s production of ‘Tom Sawyer.’ After graduating from Moorestown High School in 1981, he pursued formal training at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, earning a B.F.A. in acting in 1985. His career began primarily in theater, leading to his Broadway debut in ‘My Favorite Year’ in 1992.

Chamberlin established himself as a versatile performer on Broadway, receiving Tony Award nominations for his roles in ‘Dirty Blonde’ (Best Featured Actor in a Play) in 2000, ‘Seussical’ (Best Actor in a Musical) in 2001, and ‘The Addams Family’ (Best Featured Actor in a Musical) in 2010. He also garnered Drama Desk nominations for these performances. Beyond the stage, he transitioned into film with his debut in ‘Die Hard with a Vengeance’ in 1995, playing Charlie, the bomb defuser. His television career includes notable roles such as Bertram Winkle in the Disney Channel series ‘Jessie’ from 2011 to 2015, and appearances in ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Grace and Frankie.’

His career showcases a blend of dramatic and comedic roles, demonstrating his range across different mediums. From 2018 to 2019, he starred as The Wizard of Oz in the Broadway production of ‘Wicked.’ In 2020, he participated in ‘Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical’ as Auguste Gusteau, an online concert production. In 2022, he played Nicely-Nicely Johnson in ‘Guys and Dolls’ at the Kennedy Center, for which he received a Helen Hayes Award in 2023. Additionally, Chamberlin has directed four episodes of ‘Jessie’ and co-written ‘Loudmouth Soup’ in 2005.
