Larry Lexicon is the pseudonym of an enigmatic Canadian high school teacher who is passionate about spelling and vocabulary skills. He has built a particularly huge audience on the viral video platform TikTok where he amassed a stupendous 786,000 followers and 17.2 million content likes. He is also building sizeable audiences on the likes of Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

Lexicon is a teacher at the Elise P. Buckingham Charter Magnet High School in Vacaville, California, which has been the inspiration not just for his online persona but also his catchphrase, “Do More Bucking Vocab!” He is also the head coach of the Buckingham Knights spelling team, which has won four consecutive Division II and III Vocal Bowls.

Little more is known of the mysterious Larry Lexicon, who prefers to let his vocabulary do the talking. What can be said is that he is one of those clued-up, tech-savvy teachers who has learned that to engage with children, you have to go to the social media platforms that they use and present yourself in an engaging, accessible way.
