Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua, an Olympic gold medalist and two-time unified world heavyweight boxing champion, achieved significant amateur success, including winning the Haringey Box Cup in both 2009 and 2010, followed by consecutive senior ABA Championships in 2010 and 2011. After securing a super-heavyweight silver medal at the 2011 World Championships, which included a notable victory against Olympic champion Roberto Cammarelle, Joshua represented Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics. There, he clinched the gold medal in the super-heavyweight division, cementing his status as a formidable talent. Notably, he had previously turned down a £50,000 professional offer, prioritizing medal achievements.

In April 2016, Joshua captured his first world title, the IBF heavyweight championship, by defeating Charles Martin, marking the beginning of his reign as a dominant force. Joshua unified world heavyweight titles on two separate occasions during his illustrious career. His first unified reign commenced in 2017 when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in a highly acclaimed bout, adding the vacant WBA (Super) and IBO titles to his IBF belt. This fight earned numerous accolades, including _The Ring_ Fight of the Year, Boxing Writers Association of America Fight of the Year, and ESPN Fight of the Year for 2017, with Round 5 also named ESPN Round of the Year.

Though he later lost his unified titles to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and in their rematch in 2022, Joshua has since continued to compete at an elite level within the heavyweight division. He has secured significant victories against Otto Wallin in December 2023 and Francis Ngannou in March 2024, maintaining his status as a premier contender and marketable athlete in the heavyweight boxing landscape.
