Florian Mundt, known online as LeFloid, was born on October 1, 1987, in East Berlin. After completing his Abitur in 2008, he pursued studies in psychology and rehabilitation pedagogy at Humboldt University in Berlin, focusing on children, adolescents, and speech disorders. During his academic years, he also worked as a counselor for young people struggling with depression and emotional issues. His unique presence and commentary style quickly gained traction, leading to the establishment of multiple successful YouTube channels.

LeFloid’s main YouTube channel, launched in 2007, became one of the most subscribed in Germany, largely due to his ‘LeNews’ series. In ‘LeNews’, he discusses current events from various media, covering topics such as school, bullying, gaming, politics, and sports, often with a focus on youth-related issues. While serious themes and critical analysis are present, entertainment remains a core objective of his videos. A notable professional milestone occurred on July 11, 2015, when he interviewed German Chancellor Angela Merkel, posing questions gathered from his YouTube community under the hashtag #NetzFragtMerkel. This interview garnered considerable media attention, highlighting YouTube’s growing influence in political discourse.

Beyond his primary channel, LeFloid expanded his digital footprint with DoktorFroid Reacts and DoktorFroid, both dedicated to gaming content, vlogs, and reaction videos. In 2015, he co-founded the ‘Loot für die Welt’ charity live stream, an annual event that has raised significant funds for various charitable organizations, demonstrating his commitment to social causes. He has also appeared on television, participating in the ‘TV total Wok-WM 2015’ and collaborating with ‘Stern TV’ on an anti-cyberbullying campaign. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including the German Web Video Prize and the Grimme Online Award.
