Luka Bozic is one of Slovenia’s most successful slalom canoiests, competing at an international level since 2006. Having triumphed at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold medal in 2014, a silver medal in 2018 and four bronzes over the past decade, he’s one of the top athletes within his chosen sport. Bozic competed in the Men’s Canadian Doubles event alongside Sašo Taljat at London’s 2012 Summer Olympics at only 21 years of age, finishing in the top ten after narrowly being eliminated in the semi-final. Four years later, he made the list of top ten finalists again after finishing seventh in the same event. Among these abundant achievements Bozic can also boast a total of six medals taken home from the European Championships, including two gold, two silver and two bronze medals earned since moving out of the Under 23 category in 2014.
Born in 1991, Luka Bozic has risen through the ranks of slalom canoeing to become one of the most notable figures in the sport’s global rankings. As one of his home nation’s most talented canoeists, he has found admiration and acclaim across Slovenia and throughout the world thanks to his astounding skill on the slalom course. Named alongside Eva Terčelj as “Slovenian Paddler of The Year” by the European Canoe Association in December 2019, Bozic has proved that his hugely impressive track record is only the beginning of a long and successful sporting career.
