Marita Kramer is a talented ski jumper who has made a significant impact on the sport as a Dutch-born athlete representing Austria. Kramer began her ski jumping career at an early age, showcasing her skills and determination on the international stage. By the 2021–22 season, she had established herself as a formidable competitor, dominating the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup circuit.
Kramer’s ascent in the sport reached new heights when she qualified for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where she was considered a gold medal favorite. However, just one day before the team was set to depart for China, she tested positive for COVID-19, which prevented her from participating despite showing no symptoms. This setback was a disappointment for both Kramer and her supporters, as she was leading the World Cup rankings, having won 7 out of 11 events that season.
Despite the challenges she faced, Kramer bounced back to achieve remarkable success in subsequent competitions. She claimed the individual World Cup title for the 2021–22 season, cementing her status as one of the top ski jumpers in the world. Her achievements at the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf included a gold medal in the team normal hill event and a bronze in the mixed team event.
In 2023, Kramer continued to excel, winning a gold medal at the European Games in Kraków–Małopolska in the mixed team normal hill event and securing a bronze in the individual competition. Her resilience and talent have made her a standout athlete in ski jumping, inspiring many with her dedication to the sport.
