Marsha Thomason

Marsha Thomason was born on January 19, 1976, in Moston, Manchester, England. She attended Holy Trinity Primary School and North Manchester High School for Girls. Furthering her education, she studied for A-levels in media, theatre, and performing arts at Oldham Sixth Form College before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Manchester Metropolitan University. Her acting foundation was built early, as she participated in youth theatre productions at Oldham Theatre Workshop from the age of 13. Thomason began her professional acting career in British television, first appearing in the fifth series of “Pie in the Sky” in 1997, where she played the role of Sally across eight episodes. This early work was followed by appearances in “Playing the Field” and “Where the Heart Is” in 1998, and in the BBC Three drama “Burn It” in 2003.

Her career expanded to American productions, where she gained recognition for her role as Sara Evers in Disney’s 2003 film “The Haunted Mansion,” starring opposite Eddie Murphy. She also played Brandy in “My Baby’s Daddy” (2004) and Victoria in “Black Knight” (2001). Thomason became a main cast member in the U.S. television series “Las Vegas,” portraying Nessa Holt for 47 episodes across its first two seasons from 2003 to 2005. A notable recurring role was Naomi Dorrit in the ABC series “Lost,” appearing in 12 episodes between 2007 and 2010. She also took on the role of FBI Agent Diana Berrigan in the USA Network series “White Collar,” initially appearing in the pilot and first-season finale, and later becoming a main cast member for seasons 2 through 6 (2009-2014) for a total of 69 episodes.

More recently, Thomason has continued her work in television, taking on the lead role of DS Jenn Townsend in the ITV crime series “The Bay” from 2022 to 2024, appearing in 18 episodes. She has also been seen as Francine Bridge in Sky’s “Cobra” (2020-2023) for 17 episodes, and has lent her voice to animated series such as “Castlevania” (2021) as Greta for 10 episodes and “FreakAngels” (2022) as KK. Her career demonstrates a consistent presence in both film and television, with a history of significant roles in various genres.
