Maura Higgins

Maura Higgins was born on 25 November 1990 in Ballymahon, County Longford, Ireland. Prior to her television career, Higgins worked as a grid girl and appeared in various modeling campaigns. In 2014, she began working for Monster Energy, traveling to Abu Dhabi for the Formula 1 finale in 2017. Her participation in a Monster Energy video demonstrating car drifting for women in Abu Dhabi went viral in 2018. In 2017, Higgins also appeared in the visuals for Liam Payne’s song “Get Low.” Additionally, she worked as a ring girl for professional boxers, including Anthony Joshua, in 2019.

Higgins rose to prominence in June 2019 when she entered the fifth series of ITV2’s reality series “Love Island” as a bombshell on Day 10. She reached the final, finishing in fourth place alongside Curtis Pritchard. Following her appearance on “Love Island,” Higgins became a regular on “This Morning,” presenting an agony aunt segment. She also presented a two-part series titled “Maura’s Ireland,” showcasing the country’s beauty. In January 2020, she won ‘TV Personality of the Year’ at the Gossies Awards and served as the red carpet host for The National Television Awards. Later that month, Higgins competed in the twelfth series of “Dancing on Ice,” reaching week 7 before elimination. Her television work continued with her own ITV2 show, “Maura Higgins: You’re Joking Me!” in July 2020, and appearances as a guest panelist on “Loose Women,” as well as several celebrity game shows.

In September 2021, Higgins was announced as the presenter for the Irish version of “Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star.” She continued to gain recognition, winning ‘Best Female TV Presenter’ and ‘Most Stylish Lady’ at The Gossies Awards in April 2022. Higgins also participated in the second series of “Cooking with the Stars” in 2022, reaching the semi-final. Her international presence expanded in July 2023 when she became the social media presenter for the fifth series of “Love Island USA,” also guest-hosting a challenge. In 2024, she began presenting “Love Island USA: Aftersun” and is confirmed for the fourth season of “The Traitors US” in 2026. Higgins made her acting debut in the film “The Spin,” which won ‘Best Irish Feature Film Award’ at the Dublin International Film Festival in 2024 and is scheduled for release in October 2025.
