Mayte Garcia

Mayte Garcia is a world-renowned dancer, choreographer, actress, singer, animal advocate, and internationally best-selling author. After appearing on the American television program ‘That’s Incredible!’ in 1981 as the world’s youngest professional belly dancer, Mayte Garcia went on to become a prima ballerina with the Wiesbaden Ballet in Germany. Her exceptional talent captured the attention of musician Prince, leading her to join his performance group, The New Power Generation (NPG), in 1991. Garcia was subsequently hired to dance during Prince’s ‘Diamonds and Pearls Tour’ in 1992 and became a central figure in his critically acclaimed 1992 album ‘Love Symbol,’ where she was cast as an Egyptian princess.

In 2017, Garcia further solidified her multi-faceted career by authoring the internationally best-selling memoir, ‘The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince,’ which offered an intimate look into her professional and personal journey with the artist. A dedicated animal advocate, she established Mayte’s Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs.
