Megan Henry

Born and raised in Roxbury, CT, Megan Henry demonstrated athletic talent from a young age, particularly in field hockey. As the sole freshman on her high school team, she scored the winning goal in double overtime during the state championship semi-finals. Her athletic career continued at American University, where she excelled in both field hockey and track and field. This foundation in competitive sports laid the groundwork for her future endeavors in winter sports. Her collegiate strength coach was contacted by three-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor, actively seeking recruits for winter sports. This led Henry to explore bobsled initially but ultimately switch to skeleton, finding a sport that suited her capabilities.

Henry quickly established herself in skeleton, being named to five USA Skeleton National Teams and two World Championship Teams despite a year-long break for medical reasons. Her career highlights include achieving two track records in March 2021, one in Lake Placid, NY (54.51 seconds), and another in Park City, UT (49.42 seconds). She maintained a strong presence on the international circuit, finishing 8th overall in the World Cup during the 2019-2020 season. A notable achievement during this period was earning a Bronze Medal in Igls, Austria, at the World Cup in January 2020. She has also competed in two Olympic trials, demonstrating consistent performance at the elite level.

Beyond her on-track achievements, Henry is recognized as an American Push Record Holder across eight different tracks, showcasing her exceptional starting strength and technique. Her World Championship experiences include participating in Individual – Women events in 2015, 2019, and 2020, as well as the Team Competition – Mixed in 2015, where she secured her top finish of 7th place. Megan Henry’s career exemplifies a sustained commitment to athletic excellence and a consistent pursuit of challenging competitive environments.
