Micah Kogo is a celebrated Kenyan long-distance runner, born on 3rd June 1986, in Burnt Forest, Kenya. Recognized globally as a prolific athlete, Micah is a force to reckon with within the long-distance running genre. His achievements stand as a testament to his unwavering commitment, discipline and hard work.
Micah’s early life in Burnt Forest was characterized by a series of ups and downs, as he tried his hand in different sports activities. However, his natural talent in running was evident from an early age, and he subsequently undertook running as his primary sport. He joined the Kapsabet High School, which is renowned for its athletics program and honed his running skills.
Upon completing his high school education, Micah joined the Global Sports Communications team in the Netherlands, where he underwent rigorous training to refine his running techniques. He made his debut in international athletics in 2005 during the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Edmonton, Canada, where he finished sixth.
Micah’s breakthrough came in 2006, when he took first place at the Azalea Trail Run 10K, posting a time of 28.08 minutes, a race that was later listed as the seventh-fastest time in history. This was one of his many great accomplishments, which helped solidify his standing within the world of long-distance running.
