Award-winning film maker Michael Matteo Rossi has been directing, writing and producing movies for over 13 years. He is best known for action thriller Chase, which won the Best Action Film award at the prestigious Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival.
Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Rossi began writing as a child and was still only 19 years old when Our Lost Translation – his first short film – was shown at the LA Shorts Fest. He followed his debut movie with family sci-fi drama The Last Wish in 2011, which he wrote, produced and directed. The film was screened at several festivals and won various accolades and awards including the 2012 Mountain Film Awards Sierra Nevada Award. Two years later he won the best narrative feature award at the Los Angeles Underground Film Festival for the feature Misogynist which he also produced, directed and wrote, and the edgy style of the film earned Rossi a cult following.
Since Misogynist he has been actively been involved in film projects for the last few years, including his biggest success to date, the multi-award winning action thriller Chase. His fifth feature Shadows is due for release at the end of 2020 and has been described as a mix of Breaking Bad, Narcos and Terminator 2. Rossi has already proven he has the golden touch when it comes to making films, and there are big things still to come from the talented film-maker.
