Michelle Ortiz is an actor, singer, dancer and all around creative force – known best for her acting roles on MADtv and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. MADtv has won a staggering total of 5 Primetime Emmys for its comedic flair, with Ortiz playing multiple roles in the hilariously sardonic franchise, including Kim Kardashian, Melania Trump and more famous names. Ortiz was hailed for her incredible caricatures of these celebrities, and MADtv was praised for its diverse cast, compared to a more inclusive SNL – the groundbreaking comedy sketch show.
Ortiz has also starred in I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson, another American comedy sketch show, but with a completely different energy to MADtv; the show was critically reviewed as outlandishly great, and has been renewed for a subsequent season – a difficult feat in a world of fastly produced but equally fastly dropped television. Otriz’s most recent project is Gentified – a new bilingual series produced by America Ferrera of Ugly Betty – in which the actor plays Connie. The series has been hailed for it’s feisty, entertaining and evocative portrayal of the difficulties of gentrifications and cultural divides, and has been nominated for both a COLA award (California on Location Awards) and The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment critics. Ortiz is also a celebrated singer – beloved for her covers especially – dancer and writer. Ortiz writes music videos treatments and creative concepts for SnowBeach as well as various commercials.
