Nana Visitor

Nana Visitor boasts a long and fruitful career in front of the camera. Starting out in the ’70s on Broadway’s stages, Visitor first branched out into TV by 1976, with the sitcom, Ivan the Terrible.
From ’78 to ’82, Nana enjoyed roles on three different TV dramas, these include Ryan’s Hope, The Doctors and One Life to Live.
Two years later, Visitor was cast in 1984’s Hunter, an American crime drama written by Frank Lupo. The series was a great success and aired in almost 40 countries across the world. In ’85, Nana was offered a part in MacGyver, another action-adventure series. From the late 80’s to early 90’s, Nana’s acting was in such great demand, that she became one of the busiest personalities in the business.
She starred in some of America’s most well-known shows, such as Remington Steele, Knight Rider, Highway to Heaven, The Spirit, Night Court, In the Heat of the Night, Matlock. Doogie Howser, M.D., Thirtysomething, Torchwood: Miracle Day and Working Girl with Sandra Bullock. However, from 1993 to 1999, Nana was brought into the Star Trek team. Her character, Major Kira Neryson, is perhaps the role which she is most recognised for today.
When Deep Space Nine ended, Visitor’s career continued to flourish. She won roles in Dark Angel, ABC’s Wildfire, Castle and in 2008, she appeared as Emily Kowalski, the terminal patient in Faith.
With a career that never seems to slow down, Nana Visitor remains one of the hardest working actors in show business.
