Neil Jones

Neil Jones was born on May 4, 1982, in a British Army Camp in Munster, Germany. He began his dance training at the age of three with ballet, later expanding his skills to include tap, modern, ballroom, and Latin styles. Throughout his competitive career, Jones represented Finland, the Netherlands, and the UK, accumulating 45 dance championship titles. These include eight British National titles, eight Dutch National titles, European, and four World Latin Champion titles, along with a World Latin Showdance Championship.

His partnership with fellow dancer Katya Jones, formed in Blackpool in 2008, marked a significant period in his competitive career. Together, they achieved notable success, becoming four-time undefeated British National Champions and three-time winners of the World Amateur Latin Championships. In 2016, Jones joined the BBC One series “Strictly Come Dancing” as a professional dancer. Initially, he participated in group routines and served as a standby professional. His first celebrity pairing on the show came in 2019 with footballer Alex Scott, reaching the Quarter Final.

Jones continued his involvement with “Strictly Come Dancing” in subsequent years. He partnered with actor Nina Wadia in 2021 and with Toyah Willcox in the 2024 series. Beyond “Strictly,” Jones co-directed, choreographed, and starred in the dance show “Somnium: A Dancer’s Dream” alongside Katya Jones, which was performed in June 2019 at Sadler’s Wells Theatre. He has also participated in the national “Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour” in 2017 and continued appearing at events like Donahey’s Dancing with The Stars Weekends.
