The brilliant Neil Robertson is a professional snooker player, who has been ranked No.1 in the world on several occasions throughout his illustrious career. As of 2023 he is a World Champion, a 2x Masters Champion, and a 3x UK Champion, making him the only Australian to have won a ranking event, as well as the only player from outside the UK to have completed the Triple Crown.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Robertson started playing snooker seriously when he was 14-years-old after he became the youngest player to make a century break in an Australian ranking event. He turned professional when he was 16 at the start of the 1998/99 season. In 2003 he won the World U-21 Snooker Championships, and later earned a wildcard place at the 2004 Masters. He continued to improve and impress, and in the 2006/7 season made his breakthrough when he went on to claim his first ranking title at the Grand Prix.
In 2010 Robertson became the first Australian to be named world champion in the modern era of the game after he defeated Graeme Dott in the World Championship final at the Crucible in Sheffield. Since then he has been ranked No.1 in the world four times, and has won the Masters twice, his first being in 2012 and his second coming ten years later in 2022. While at the UK Championships, he took the title three times: in 2013, 2015, and 2020.
