Nick Mowrer

Nick Mowrer was born on September 14, 1988, in Miles City, Montana, and grew up with a passion for hunting and fishing. His interest in precision shooting developed early, leading him to discover NRA high-power rifle and Bullseye Pistol Leagues. Mowrer quickly distinguished himself, becoming the four-time aggregate Collegiate Pistol Champion in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012. He also secured the NRA National Rifle Junior Champion title in Camp Perry, Ohio, in 2008.

Mowrer’s career progressed significantly when he joined the Army World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) in 2012, where he continues to train at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He made his Olympic debut at the 2012 London Olympic Games, participating in the men’s free pistol event at 23 years old. A testament to his versatile skill, Mowrer has achieved the rare distinction of being a World Cup medalist in both pistol and rifle disciplines. He qualified again for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he competed in air pistol, marking his return to the Games as a husband, father, and U.S. Army Reserve sergeant.

Throughout his career, Mowrer has consistently achieved high rankings and medal placements in various national and international competitions. His achievements include a bronze medal at the 2023 Pan American Games in Mixed Team Air Pistol, a silver medal at the 2022 Championships of the Americas in Men’s 10m Air Pistol, and a silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Air Pistol, securing an Olympic quota. His dedication to the sport and his service in the U.S. Army Reserve highlight his commitment and discipline.
