New York’s own Nick Sirianni is the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. From 2018 to 2020, he was the offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts.
After Doug Pederson was fired as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles on January 24, 2021, Sirianni was brought on board. Sirianni made his regular-season head coaching debut against the Atlanta Falcons on September 12, 2021, and guided the Eagles to a 32-6 victory. After experiencing coronavirus symptoms on December 22, he was put under COVID protocols until December 25. With a 9-8 record and a wild-card slot at the end of his first season in charge, Sirianni led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 15-31 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the defending Super Bowl champions. Additionally, Sirianni joined Chip Kelly in 2013 and Ray Rhodes in 1995 as the third Eagles head coach to lead their team to the playoffs in their inaugural season in charge.
Sirianni first met his wife Brett while he was employed with the Kansas City Chiefs. His brother Mike Sirianni is the head coach at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania. His father Fran, brother Jay, and uncle Mike Sirianni are all past head coaches of Southwestern Central High School. Sirianni revealed that he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan growing up in an interview with Rich Eisen.
