Nick Viall is an American actor, model, and television personality who starred in the 21st season of ABC’s The Bachelor after finishing second in two seasons of The Bachelorette. Viall first appeared on the ABC reality show The Bachelorette in 2014 as one of Andi Dorfman’s suitors. On the first night, he received his first impression rose. In the final dates, he proclaimed his love for Dorfman as one of the final two bachelors, but was disappointed when Dorfman chose Josh Murray to receive the final rose.
Viall returned for a second opportunity in the following season of The Bachelorette in 2015, when he was a guest in the fourth week during Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe’s New York City date. He pleaded with her to give him a chance, and she agreed to join the cast. He got to the final rose ceremony once again, but was turned down by Bristowe, who chose Shawn Booth. Viall made a comeback to reality television in the third season of Bachelor in Paradise. On the fourth episode of the second season of Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise, Viall was announced as the star of the twenty-first season of The Bachelor. In the season finale, Viall proposed to competitor Vanessa Grimaldi, a special education teacher from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They split up in August of the following year.
Viall made his acting debut in the 2017 Christmas television movie A Christmas Cruise, starring Vivica A. Fox, and has appeared on ABC’s Speechless and TV Land’s Teachers as a guest star. In May 2018, he featured on episodes of General Hospital during the Nurse’s Ball. Viall and his sister founded Natural Habits, an essential oil firm, in 2018. In January 2019, Viall launched The Viall Files, a podcast that features a variety of notable guests.
