Born in the idyllic Caribbean island of Curaçao, her passion for sailing was ignited amidst the azure waves and gentle breezes of her homeland. Growing up in a family of sailing enthusiasts, with four siblings sharing her love for the sport, Odile’s destiny was set from the start.

At the tender age of 14, she made waves in the sailing world by clinching the title of South American Optimist champion in 2013, showcasing a talent and determination far beyond her years. The following year, she claimed second place in the prestigious Youth Olympic Games in 2014, solidifying her status as one of sailing’s brightest young stars.

Odile’s journey to the top culminated in 2021 when she, alongside her formidable partner Elise de Ruijter, soared to victory as the 49er FX World Champion. Their flawless teamwork, unwavering resolve, and unparalleled skill propelled them to the pinnacle of the sport, etching their names in sailing history. Not content with just one triumph, they also seized the title of 49er FX European Champions, further cementing their dominance on both the European and global stages.
