In 2013, at 14, Van Aanholt became the South American Optimist champion. The following year, she secured second place at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, demonstrating early potential in the sport. Her training included preparation in the Persico 69F for the 2021 Youth America’s Cup in Auckland. Van Aanholt has consistently sailed in the 49erFX class, initially partnering with Marieke Jongens.
Her career progressed significantly in 2021 when she, alongside Elise de Ruijter, achieved a gold medal at the 49er FX World Championships and the 49er FX European Championships. This established her as a prominent figure in international sailing. Continuing her success, Van Aanholt, now partnered with Annette Duetz, secured the 49er FX World Championship title again in 2022 and 2024. These repeated victories highlight her consistent performance and dedication at the highest levels of the sport.
