The fabulously fiery artist and musician Alaina Marie Beaton, who is known professionally as Porcelain Black, is a singer/songwriter, rapper, dancer, and model. She fuses industrial themes with pop music conventions and is best known for her guttural vocals and two-toned hair.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Black grew up with a love and natural talent for the arts and took part in national competitive dancing, taking jazz, Hip-Hop, tap, and ballet lessons. She was training to perform on Broadway and then when she was 16 she was signed to Virgin Records. Recording under the pseudonym Porcelain and the Tramps, Black and the label eventually fell out as they could not agree on the direction her music was to take. She posted her music to her MySpace account gaining upwards of 10 million hits in a matter of months. After three years of trying to get out of the Virgin contract, she eventually signed with 2101 Records in 2009 and began working on her debut album. She released a number of tracks over the next few years but after many internal conflicts the release of her long-anticipated debut album were cancelled. She has since gone her own way and has from time-to-time self released demo tracks to her YouTube channel.
Black regularly connects with her legions of followers and fans through Instagram, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos of her life around music. She is also available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform, and has a dedicated YouTube channel, Porcelain Black.
