Rachel Lutrell is an actress, stunt woman and singer who hails from the Canadian-Tanzanian regions of the world. She is best known for her work on Stargate Atlantis, Avengers and her musical works. She is also the recipient of the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture in the Avengers: Endgame movie, and she was nominated for the same award in 2019 for her work in Avengers: Infinity War.
Luttrell blossomed into her acting career, her debut credited role being cast as Bobby’s Daughter in the television movie, Courage (1986). Following her debut, she kept up in the industry by starring in commercials and guest appearing on additional shows such as her recurring guest role on Street Legal from 1989 to 1993, playing Veronica Beck. She continued to secure guest appearances on highly rated series like Charmed, ER, Damon, and several other movies; Everyday Use (2003), The Aviary (2005) and many more up until her most notable role knocked on her door in 2004.
Luttrell is most noted for her time on Stargate Atlantis as Teyla Emmagan, the leader of the Athosians from the planet Athos. This became the role that gave her most success, as the series became explosive amongst science fiction fans. The show ran for 5 seasons and she starred in almost 100 episodes. Stargate: Atlantis is the winner of the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Sci-Fi Show, several Gemini awards, Leo awards and four time nominee of the Primetime Emmy. After her time on the series, Luttrell continued to star in feature films and series. She can be seen on Zombieland: Double Tap, NCIS, Arrow and many more.
