Radik Isayev

Radik Isayev is a celebrated taekwondo practitioner, originally from Russia and of Lezgin origin, who has made a significant impact on the international martial arts scene after naturalizing as an Azerbaijani athlete. His journey in taekwondo began at a young age, and he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the sport’s leading figures. In 2014, he won a gold medal at the European Championships in the men’s 87 kg category, showcasing his exceptional talent and determination.

Isayev’s impressive performance continued on the world stage when he captured a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships. His dedication culminated in a historic achievement at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where he secured the gold medal, marking a pinnacle in his career. Following this success, he added to his accolades by becoming the World Champion in 2015 and earning another bronze at the World Championships in 2016.
