Former professional footballer Robbie Savage was a well-known player with an image that often saw his life discussed outside of the sport. The Welshman has a fine career playing at the top level and did so mostly as a midfielder. He started off as a youth player with Manchester United and then joined the likes of Crewe Alexandra. It was in the late 1990s that he really found his feet playing for Leicester City as a key player in the team. After that he was just as key to Birmingham and Blackburn Rovers and in 2008 went to play for Derby County. As well as this, Robbie also played many times for Wales, picking up 39 caps in all and contributing plenty of goals. Robbie picked up many yellow cards in his time and at one time held the record for the most held by any player.
Often referred to as a rather dirty player, Robbie Savage was certainly a divisive player amongst fans. Since leaving his playing days behind him he has become a popular pundit who works on the BBC for shows like Match of the Day tow and has also undertaken a number of charity events. These include playing football for 24 hours straight with Newcastle legend and fellow pundit Alan Shearer. As well as this, Robbie also regularly presents on Radio 606 and BBC Radio 5 Live on Saturdays along with Darren Fletcher. As such he is someone who adds real star quality and great excitement to any event, TV show or function.
