Rising talent Ron Bultongez is a singer-songwriter who first rose to prominence after wowing the judges on American Idol. Since leaving judges Luke Bryan , Lionel Richie and Katy Perry in awe of his smooth yet raspy voice, Bultongez has been living the American Dream, releasing several Eps and singles and growing an impressive following. Inspired by the likes of James Bay, Ed Sheeran and John Mayer’s bluesy grooves, his music tells a story and he is ready to share his message with the world.
Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the singer was named the Hometown Hero of his adopted town of Plano, Texas after reaching the Top 24 on American Idol in 2018. Bultongez began singing in his 6th grade choir and credits music to saving his life when he needed a way to escape. Although he never received any formal training, he taught himself to play both keyboard and guitar, guided by his emotions and natural musical ability.
Bultongez seized the opportunity to make a name for himself when he appeared on the 16th season on American Idol, winning over the judges and millions of viewers. Since he appeared on the show he has played at some of the biggest venues in Texas and has built a significant following with his EPs and singles. Now free from the constraints of post-TV show contracts, Bultongez is working on his highly-anticipated debut album and 2020 saw him drop the soulful track ‘Get Back Up’. There’s no doubt the future is bright for this talented young artist.
