Footballer, television star and rapper Ronald Ollie rose to fame on the hit Netflix football documentary series Last Chance U. A fan favourite and breakout star of the show thanks to his relatable personality and big sense of humour, he has taken his positive outlook to several stops on his football journey and also found a passion away from the gridiron becoming a rapper under the pseudonym Romo Blvck, releasing new content throughout the last couple of years.
The original season of the popular Netflix hit show Last Chance U brought about plenty of fan favourites and interesting characters, and Ollie was one of the most memorable. The defensive lineman came to East Mississippi Community college in 2014 from Wayne County High School with dreams of an eventual Division 1 Scholarship. He received guidance from EMCC academic advisor Brittany Wagner who helped the youngster achieve the grades he needed to get where he wanted to go and he landed at FCS Nicholls State in Louisiana, where success followed him as he featured in 10 games during his first season recording 41 tackles.
After an impressive senior season, the next step for Ollie was pro football and although he didn’t hear his name called in the 2019 NFL Draft he received interest from a number of teams. He eventually signed to rookie minicamp with the Oakland Raiders, who coincidentally featured on another hit TV documentary, Hard Knocks (HBO).
Although Ollie’s original NFL plan didn’t work out he remained focussed on a career in pro football and in 2020 signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, but after parting ways with the team is now concentrating on his rising music career. With a huge fan base from his Last Chance U days, the star looks set for success.
