Keynote speaker and Author Scott Burrows is celebrated for his book Vision, Mindset, Grit, which describes how these three concepts can bypass any challenge. After being diagnosed a quadriplegic, he uses his own life-changing and inspirational story as a backdrop to the book, proving the saying ‘mind over matter.’
By the age of nineteen, Burrows was an accomplished athlete; excelling on the Track and Golf teams, playing football whilst at Florida State University, as well as being a top-ranked kick-boxing Black Belt champion, the latter of which was often broadcast on ESPN.
During the pinnacle of his career, Burrows survived a traffic car accident, breaking two vertebrae in his neck. He became paralysed from the neck down and was told he would be confined to a wheelchair from then on. Burrows refused to become another statistic and fought to stay alive whilst battling several life-threatening complications during his recovery. He returned to college, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, all the while competing in the Paralympic sport ‘Murderball’.
Burrows soon became a financial advisor, but once he’d excelled beyond his imagination, he was involved in another accident. This time round, he practiced what he preached in his first book and once again, extraordinarily recovered, encouraging others to chase their dreams, no matter what obstacle they encounter.
Burrows has delivered his remarkable story globally, making it his mission to inspire organisations and individuals to persevere in life, even in the most difficult of times.
