Sean Brady is a well-regarded American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of March 2023, he was named to the #9 spot in the UFC welterweight rankings, and has an impressive professional record of 15 wins and just 1 loss.
Born and raised in Burholme, Philadelphia, Brady started training in Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu while studying at Swenson Arts and Technology High School to become an auto mechanic. After an undefeated 10-0 pro record in Cage Fury Fighting Championship, Brady captured the Welterweight title with a submission win over Mike Jones and subsequently defended it with a fourth-round knockout over Taj Abdul-Hakim, which earned him a UFC contract. Since his UFC debut, Brady has been a force to be reckoned with. He has won six out of his seven UFC bouts, with his only loss coming from Belal Muhammad via TKO stoppage at UFC 280 on October 2022. His notable victories include a submission win over Jake Matthews at UFC 259, a Performance of the Night award-winning guillotine choke submission over Christian Aguilera at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Rakić, and a unanimous decision win over Michael Chiesa at UFC Fight Night 198.
In addition to his successful mixed martial arts career, Brady has also made a name for himself in the professional grappling scene. He faced Craig Jones, a two-time ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship silver medallist, at Fury Pro Grappling 3 and won the match by unanimous decision. Brady then submitted UFC veteran and 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu black belt Ben Saunders with a kimura at 4:25 in the main event of Fury Pro Grappling 4. With his impressive skills in both mixed martial arts and grappling, Sean Brady has proven to be a well-rounded and versatile fighter.
