The young Shamier Little is a remarkable track and field athlete who, while still a college sophomore at Texas A&M University, became the 2015 US champion in the 400m hurdles. She also won a silver medal in the same event at the 2015 World Championships. Her personal best times are: 23.17 secs in the 200m, 51.06 secs in the 400m, and 52.75 secs in the 400m hurdles.
Little was born and raised in Kentucky to sporting parents, and first started running when she was eight-years-old as a member of the University of Chicago Track Club and then later with the Country Club Hills Gazelles. Her athletic potential developed while she was at the Robert Lindblom Math & Scheme Academy in Chicago where, in 2011, she won the AAU Junior Olympics in the 400m hurdles. The following year she won the USATF Junior Championships, again in the hurdles, and qualified to represent the USA in the IAAF World Junior T&F Championships in Spain. Following High School, she went to Texas A&M University and continued to successfully compete, winning the 2104 NCAA 400m hurdle title, the USATF Junior 400m hurdle title, and the IAAF World Junior Championships 400m hurdle title. 2015 proved to be just as fruitful with victories in defending her NCAA title, the USATF Championships 400m, the Pan-Am Games (for which she won gold), and taking a silver at the IAAF World T&F Championships in Beijing. She completed the NCAA triple in 2016, and then announced she was turning professional to run for Adidas. She ended her first Diamond League season with victory in Zurich.
Little regularly connects with her dedicated followers via Instagram and Twitter, posting videos and pictures of her life both on and off the track. She also has her own official website, shamierlittle.com.
