Shreya Arun is a nationally recognized speed skater and entrepreneur known for her athletic achievements and community initiatives. After dominating the Junior Ladies BC division, Shreya Arun secured a first-place finish at the United States Short Track Age Group Nationals in March 2019, competing at the Verona Ice Arena in Wisconsin. To claim the national championship title, Arun skillfully placed first in at least three of the four distances she skated, which included the 500, 777, 1000, and 1500 meters. This national victory followed multiple regional competition wins.
Her dual achievements in both competitive sports and social enterprise were formally recognized by Purcellville Mayor Kwasi Fraser, who officially declared April 9, 2019, as ‘Shreya Arun Day.’ This commendation celebrated her dedication to speed skating and community work, highlighting her influence. Aruns extensive speed skating career spans over seven years, during which she has consistently demonstrated elite performance and an unwavering commitment to her discipline. Demonstrating her continued drive and international aspirations, Arun dedicated herself to intensive training for the Youth Olympic Trials in October 2019, with the goal of representing the U.S. at the Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland.
