Siddharth Kannan was born in New Delhi into a Tamil-speaking family and later moved to Kolkata, then Lucknow, before settling in Mumbai in 1994. His career in broadcasting began remarkably early, joining Times FM as a radio host at the age of 14. This made him the youngest radio host in India, a record recognized in the Limca Book of Records. Early in his career, he co-hosted ‘Miranda Char Baje Band Baje’ on Radio Star 107.1 FM with Cyrus Broacha and founded India’s first radio school, ‘Wild on Air,’ in 1999. These foundational experiences established his presence in the broadcasting landscape and refined his interviewing and hosting abilities.
Kannan’s career trajectory includes extensive work across radio and television. On radio, he hosted popular shows like ‘Meow Starburst’ and ‘Bollywood Khul Ke,’ where he interviewed prominent figures such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, and Aamir Khan. His television ventures saw him host ‘Santa and Banta Newz Unlimited’ on Zoom in 2006, followed by ‘See Taare Mastiii Mein’ on Mastiii, a celebrity chat show that gained significant viewership. He also served as a commentator for ‘Ring Ka King’ on Colors in 2012 and hosted sports programs including Star Sports Pro Kabaddi and the Champions Tennis League on Sony Six in 2014. In more recent years, he has hosted and produced ‘Fitness with Stars’ and ‘Movies & More’ on Shemaroo’s various platforms, demonstrating a continuous evolution in content creation.
Beyond hosting, Siddharth Kannan is an accomplished voice-over artist, lending his voice to major events such as the IIFA Awards, Filmfare Awards, and numerous TV commercials.
