Instantly recognisable shaven-haired, gap-toothed model Slick Woods has turned heads in the fashion industry. Woods – real name Simone Thompson – has walked for some of the world’s biggest fashion brands from Yeezy and Puma, to Fendi and Fenty and has starred in campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein. She has been photographed by some the most renowned photographers in the industry, including Alasdair McLellan, Tim Walker and Steven Meisel and featured in the 2018 Pirelli calendar alongside A-lister celebrities Lupita Nyong’o, Diddy and Naomi Campbell. With a nonchalant attitude that has captured the imagination of the Gen-Z audience, her social media following is close to 1 million.

After being discovered by model Ash Stymest in Los Angeles, Woods was introduced to photographer Dave Mushegain and his photos of the rising star landed her a coveted spot in megastar Kaye West’s Yeezy Season 2 lookbook. A contract with prestigious New York agency The Lions soon followed and Woods then made a splash appearing in Calvin Klein’s Autumn/Winter 2016 campaign. In magazines, she has since featured in Jalouse, Vogue Italia, American Vogue, Vogue Japan, i-D, Porter, Love, V, Dazed and Glamour. Woods has also appeared in film and television, receiving positive reviews for her stunning debut performance in the 2020 movie Goldie and also appearing in the sixth season of Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood. In September 2017 she was revealed as one of the new faces of Fenty Beauty, pop star Rihanna’s bestselling makeup brand.
