Barbara Jean Blank, born on January 15, 1987, in Jacksonville, Florida, began her career as a bikini model for Venus Swimwear and Hawaiian Tropic before entering the world of professional wrestling. At 19, on May 13, 2006, she signed a developmental contract with WWE, marking a significant turn in her professional life. She then underwent training at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where she gained foundational experience as a ring announcer and referee. Her official debut on WWE’s ECW brand in June 2006 introduced her as “Kelly Kelly,” where her initial role involved performing a weekly striptease segment. This segment eventually evolved into “Kelly’s Exposé,” and she later became part of the trio Extreme Exposé with Layla and Brooke Adams.
Blank’s career progressed from a non-wrestling role to actively participating in matches. She was drafted to the WWE Raw brand in July 2008 and later to the Smackdown brand in April 2010. A major career highlight occurred in April 2011 when she returned to Raw and, through a fan vote, won her first WWE Divas Championship, defeating Brie Bella. This reign lasted 104 days and concluded in October when she lost the title to Beth Phoenix. Following an appearance at WrestleMania XXVIII in 2012, where she teamed with Maria Menounos, Blank was granted time off to recover from a neck injury. She was released from her WWE contract in September 2012, with plans to return to modeling.
Post-WWE, Blank explored acting and reality television, appearing in the E! reality series WAGS from 2015 to 2017. She made sporadic returns to WWE for special events, including the first women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018. In July 2019, she notably became the first woman to win the WWE 24/7 Championship by pinning Gerald Brisco during Raw Reunion. In 2020, she made her film debut in “Disturbing the Peace.” Blank has also engaged in philanthropic efforts, co-founding the non-profit charity Cure Glioblastoma in 2019, dedicated to raising awareness and finding solutions for brain cancer, a disease that affected her father.
