A DIY project that has become international with endless scope, Slow Magic is known for cosmic, electronic music genre that merges transcendent performance with escapist vibes. Following the debut release of the critically acclaimed ‘Triangle’ in 2012, Slow Magic has become an international movement and has toured with the likes of Gold Panda and XXYYXX.
Slow Magic is known for his masked appearance, celebrated by fans for his mysterious and captivating identity. In his lives shows, he takes to the stage masked and bathed in light, accompanied by electronic triggers and a drum. ‘How To Run Away’ is Slow Magic’s debut release with Downtown Records, futuristic and other worldly in style. The leading track titled ‘Girls’ is a mix of house and various hand picked samples, whilst ‘Hold Still’ amalgamates jazz piano and organs with an emotive crescendo. Other tracks take inspiration from R&B and dub music, producing a unique sound.
Slow Magic has mastered his brand and individual style; his neon animal mask, hiding his identity, allows his audiences to immerse themselves in his mesmerizing instrumental electronic sounds. The artist says that “when I started this project, I wanted the main focus to be the music and artwork, and not a person or a place or a face”. Slow Magic continues to grow in influence and popularity and he has toured the world with artists such as Giraffage and ODESZA.
