Sophie Windsor is an English actress and writer who is married to Lord Frederick Windsor who is related to Queen Elizabeth 11, she is also known as Lady Frederick Windsor. She was born in 1980 in Primrose Hill London. Her father Barry Winkleman published the Times Atlas of World History. Her half-sister is the famous television presenter Claudia Winkleman. She went to the City of London School for Girls and then Trinity Hall, Cambridge. At university she was a member of the Footlights Comedy Club.
She co-wrote and performed in the award-winning revue ‘Far too Happy’. While at university she performed in a variety of roles in theatre. In 1997 she joined the National Youth Theatre. She is also a trained Soprano. Sophie was nominated for the BBC Best Newcome award for her performance in ‘Waking the Dead’. She has played many repeating roles in TV series for example ‘Death in Paradise’, ‘Harry and Paul’ and Agatha Christie’s ‘Poirot’. She played Big Suze in the Channel 4 sitcom ‘Peep Show’. She also starred as Princess Eleanor in ‘The Palace’. She made her first appearance on American TV starring in the NBC sitcom ‘100 questions’.
In film she appeared in the Disney production of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in 2005. In 2007 she was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Show. She has also done voice acting on radio. She married Lord Frederick Windsor in 2009 and together they have two daughters called Maud and Isabella.
