Stacey Dash is a seasoned actress and a former political commentator for Fox News. She is probably best known for her role as Dionne in the classic chick-flick film, Clueless, and the TV series that followed it.
Dash began acting young, appearing in her first TV movie back in 1982. She also appeared in thirteen episodes of the show, TV 101, as Monique between 1988 and 1989, and had a small role in the classic programme, The Cosby Show. In 1994, she also had a small role in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
However, it wasn’t until 1995 that she became a household name. When she joined the cast of Clueless as the sassy character, Dionne, she had no idea how successful the movie would be. Based off the Jane Austen novel, Emma, the film follows a young woman’s journey to love and her role playing Cupid among her friends. Dash’s character is memorable for her crazy fashion and her fun one-liners. The film was such a success that it earned her a spot in a spin-off TV show for the next three years.
Dash left her acting career behind for a while, instead becoming a political commentator for Fox News. She even ran for Congress in 2018 and wrote a book about her journey from acting to being a political figurehead. Despite some controversial political views, she’s still very popular now that she’s retired, with over five hundred thousand Twitter followers who have her back.
